The Christmas magic will be going on until Monday 23 December. Traditionally the market remains closed on 24 November (Totensonntag), the Sunday before advent which is an evangelical day of remembrance for the deceased.

This year the Bonn Christmas market has 170 stalls. As always, there is a large variety of items for sale, ranging from Christmas baubles and tinsel to handicrafts, jewellery, toys, homemade baskets, candles and soaps. Of course there are also numerous food and mulled wine stands. The sales stalls are open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m,, the food and drink stands are open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. and on all other days from 11 a.m. to 9.30 p.m.

Like every year, the city's ‘Aktionhaus’ for children on the Münsterplatz will be reopening its doors to the younger market visitors. Here children aged six and over can play, paint and make handicrafts. Some days artisans also come to work with the children. The Aktionhaus is open from 22 November to 22 December - Mondays to Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Entrance is free of charge.
