Attack in Beuel Woman molested while jogging along Rhine

Police are asking for help in identifying a man who molested a 26-year-old woman while she was jogging along the Rhine in Beuel.

A 26-year-old woman was tackled to the ground and molested by a man while jogging along the Rhine in Beuel. Police have issued a photofit of the suspected attacker to try and find him.

Police said the woman was running along the Rhine in Beuel around 7 am on Sunday, 18 September. The unknown man was sitting on a bench at Rheinaustraße. As the young woman jogged past him, he ran after her. When they reached the Kardinal-Frings Gymnasium (High School) sports field, he tripped the 26-year-old and apparently tried to molest her.

The woman fought off the attack and finally managed to free herself and flee towards the Kennedy Bridge. The perpetrator headed from the scene towards the Süd (South) Bridge. He may have had injuries to one hand and to the left side of his face.

As their inquiries have so far not enabled them to identify the suspect, Bonn police have now released a photofit of the unknown man. The attacker is described as follows:

  • about 25 to 35 years old
  • about 1.75 metres tall
  • stubble on face
  • round face
  • close cropped hair
  • wearing a white zip-up jacket with dark stripes on the arms, probably by Adidas
  • light blue jeans
  • white trainers

Anyone who can help police identify the person on the photofit should call 0228 150.
