Critical injuries sustained Woman hit by tram at Ollenhauerstraße

Bonn · A pedestrian was hit by a tram at Ollenhauerstraße on Tuesday afternoon and was very seriously hurt. The accident resulted in considerable disruptions to public tram transportation.

A serious accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at 1 pm in the area of Ollenhauerstraße. A 76-year-old woman was hit by a tram. Police reported that the woman was coming from Ollenhauerstraße, walking towards the tram stop. She overlooked the Tram Line 66 which was headed for Bonn and was hit by the tram.

The woman was very seriously injured in the accident. She received emergency medical treatment on site and was subsequently sent to hospital for further treatment. Her injuries remain life-threatening.

Stadtwerke Bonn reported that the tram route had to be closed down for two hours and was opened again in both directions at 3:10 pm. But there were still considerable delays. Lines 16 and 63 from Tannenbusch ended at Heussallee and then made their return trips. Tram lines which were coming from Bad Godesberg ended at Olof-Palme-Allee.

Line 66 from Bad Honnef went from Ramersdorf via Beuel to Bonn Central Station, and then on to Siegburg. Between Siegburg and Bad Honnef, the tram also traveled via Beuel.

Authorities are investigating the incident further. Police are asking witnesses to contact investigators at the phone number (0228) 1 50.
