Deployment in Beuel Woman discovers person drowned on Beuel Rhine bank
Bonn · The fire brigade and police were called out to the Rhine at lunchtime on Sunday after a woman out walking had discovered a body there.
Bonn police said a woman out walking had made a dreadful discovery on the Beuel Rhine bank at lunchtime on Sunday. She discovered a body in the water near the Rhine bank directly opposite the port of Bonn and immediately informed the police.
The discovery was reported at around 12.40pm. Officers then alerted the Bonn fire brigade as they have a so-called multi-purpose boat with which it is easier to reach the area along the bank. The officers recovered the drowned body, which had got caught in undergrowth along the bank, a short time later.
It was not known on Sunday whether the dead person was a woman or a man. The cause of death is also unclear. Police told the GA that investigations were ongoing. These include a comparison with the list of missing persons.
