Weekend March 23-25 What’s happening in Bonn and the region?
BONN/REGION · Yeah, okay, the weather doesn’t suggest spring yet, but that doesn’t stop the city and region to awake from hibernation with a long list of lovely events. Some, like the French Food Market or the Street Food Festival seriously make our mouths water - and let us long for summer…
Special event: MARCH FOR OUR LIVES: Democrats Abroad Bonn will be holding a March for Our Lives event this Saturday, March 24, at 12 noon at Bottlerplatz. You can join Democrats Abroad Bonn as they march in solidarity with the Parkland students and remember the countless victims who have lost their lives to gun violence in the United States. Students, teachers, Americans, Germans, children, adults – all are welcome to participate and make strong voices heard as they tell the elected officials: „Enough is enough!“
After gathering at Bottlerplatz (in front of C&A), participants will have the opportunity to peacefully express their thoughts and views on the issue by sharing a personal story, poem, song, etc. with the group. From there, the march will go through the Bonner Innenstadt, stopping at Friedensplatz and Marktplatz.
American citizens will also be able to register to vote and request their ballots so that they can make a difference in the upcoming midterm elections.

Gurlitt: Status Report: Nazi art theft and its consequences. The Bavarian Public Prosecutor’s office seized the art collection of Cornelius Gurlitt (1932–2014), causing an international sensation when it was made public in November 2013. The 1500 works that the reclusive son of the art dealer Hildebrand Gurlitt (1895–1956) had inherited from his father raised suspicions: had they been looted by the Nazis before and during the Second World War?
