Weekend June 23 - 25 What’s happening in Bonn and the region?

Bonn/Region · Summer has finally arrived and the school holidays are still a few weeks away. In case you’d like to get out of the blistering heat, we have a few nice ideas for indoor events here. Otherwise, enjoy the sunshine!

Looking for a way to get involved in the local expat community? BonnEnglish organizes discussion groups with English speakers and English learners. Groups meet in local cafes to discuss new topics each week. New participants and volunteers are always welcome. See Bonn English Groups for more information.

In case you wanted to go and see the exhibition „Real bodies - learn from the dead“, this weekend: Please note that it has been cancelled. The Bonn regulatory agency has prohibited the exhibition from taking place due to important documents being missing. Apparently some consent forms of the people whose bodies were supposed to be exhibited were not handed in in time, also some of the advertising posters were hung up illegally. The organizer did not comment further. No new date has been announced.

Reminder:
Bonn Expat summer meeting: This year’s will transfer the participants into a country rich with ancient heritage and full of mystery: „Iran – Ancient Cultures between Water and Desert“. The evening will offer an inside view into long hidden treasures of the early Iranian civilisations that flourished before our common era. From the snow-capped peaks of the mountain ranges to the blazing heat of deserts, Iran is a country of contrasts. And it is in those deserts and mountain ranges that fertile valleys where inhabited by people ever since sedentism. BONNEXPAT is offering a guided tour through this unique exhibition – including an exclusive reception in the beautiful Persian Garden where we will have drinks to enjoy the summer evening. Entrance fees and drinks are courtesy of Deutsche Post DHL Group.

The BONNEXPAT Evening will take place on June 29, from 7pm, at the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 4, 53113 Bonn.
