Oak processionary moths’ caterpillars can cause serious reactions

NORTH RHINE-WESTPHALIA. The caterpillars of the oak processionary moth are spreading across trees in North Rhine-Westphalia. Their stunning hair can cause allergies and asthma in humans. In the past, mostly free-standing oak trees were affected, but this year the forest butterfly appears in other kinds of trees too. It seems to be spreading in the Rhineland as well.

Three donkeys went their own way on Friday night

BAD GODESBERG. Three donkeys decided to go for a little stroll in Bad Godesberg in the early hours of Friday morning. They were noticed at about 3.30am, when the police were called by several residents with reports of donkey sightings near the Friedrich-Ebert- and Kurfürstenallee. Milli, Joschi and Fleur were caught in front of the Röttger pharmacy and tied to a lamp post.

According to the police report, one of the donkeys also reacted to the name Klaus-Dieter - but maybe the police officers should re-check their file. The donkeys were later collected from the police station by their owner. The gang of three is apparently well known in the area: Three years ago they walked to the Kurpark in Bad Godesberg without permission also.
