The food menu and the drinks list changed fundamentally in the Bonn Pauke Life Bistro at Endenicher Straße. The kitchen now serves regional specialities form the Rhine area, and for the first time, the evening menu also include alcoholic beverages. With the new concept, the restaurant - which used to be a place for people suffering from addiction - wants to approach a broader audience. „We decided to change our profile“, said Pauke Life head chef and professional pedagogue, Anja Lindenberg.

The operators of the location and their team are supported by two apprentices, cook Jessica Eisner and restaurant specialist Kristina Büscher. The two created their own favourite cocktails for the new menu: Tina’s Special (Solero) with Maracuja juice, cream and Licor 43 and Jessy’s (Pink Panther) with Grenadine, milk and Licor 43 (5.50 Euro each).

There are beers, wines and other cocktails - but no „stronger stuff“ like schnaps, says Lindenberg. „We don’t serve Obstler shots after dinner.“

Part of the new style are white table clothes, an amuse geule and homemade focaccia. On the menu there are starters like the duet of beetroot and parsnip carpaccio with elderberry gravy and roasted walnuts (11.90 Euro), or as main courses: taste flambée with regional honey and goats cheese (8.70 euro), radiccio with spinach and rucola salat combined with slices of roasted lamb, braised figs and plums (11.70 Euro) or marinated pot roast with raisin sauce, homemade dumplings and fresh red cabbage (16.40 Euro). On the dessert menu, the sweet roasted dumplings carpaccio with chocolate parfait is highly recommendable (6.30 Euro).
