Free concerts Jazz on the Underground

Bonn · JazzTube is here again. Now in its sixth year, the popular series of concerts will bring music to Bonn’s public transport system from Friday 25 August.

Three Bonn underground stations will become stages for JazzTube on Fridays from 5pm over the next five weeks. The series of concerts, organised by Stadtwerke Bonn, will take place at the Hauptbahnhof/Thomas-Mann-Straße, Uni/Markt and Heusallee/Museumsmeile underground stations. Three bands will each play three half hour sets. All concerts are free of charge.

The Jerry Lu Sextett will ensure an unusual start to the evening, playing Straight Ahead Jazz at the Hauptbahnhof (Thomas Mann exit) at 5pm, 5.45pm and 6.30pm. The Klezmer Tunes concert will play acoustic jazz, music from films and Mack the Knife at the Uni/Markt station at 5.15pm, 6pm and 6.45pm. The Trifonoff Trio will play a swinging tribute to their jazz idols, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Bud Powell as well as their own compositions at the Heussallee station at 5.30pm, 6.15pm and 7pm.

All concert times and more information (in English) can be found at jazz-tube-bonn.de
