Tannenbusch Drug scene in focus

Law enforcement officials were on a mission to fight street crime and an area known for having an open drug scene. A special police patrol was concentrated around the Tannenbusch Center and Oppelner Straße, with a large police contingency out in force.

According to a police spokesperson, law enforcement officials have been monitoring the area, which has become a magnet for drugs since the tearing down of the games center which used to stand there. In three cases, narcotics were seized. A 17-year-old had a stolen mobile phone in possession. Stolen cosmetics were found on another youth.

Two drivers were on the road without a valid driver’s license and they were pulled out of traffic. Police said on Monday that they would continue to monitor the situation in Tannenbusch and carry out targeted searches.
