Carnival in Bonn and the region Carnival weather forecast

Bonn · It will be a miserable start weatherwise to Weiberfastnacht. The German Weather Service has warned of squalls and constant rain.

The weather gods are not smiling on Carnival revellers. After some parades had to be cancelled last year because of storms, the weather is also not showing its best side this year.

Weiberfastnacht (Women’s Carnival Day) will be stormy. There will be squalls throughout the day in Bonn and the region, with winds reaching speeds of more than 70 kilometres per hour. The German Weather Service (DWD) has given a warning of gusty winds and there is the possibility of rain throughout the day.

The DWD has warned of continual rain in the Rhein-Sieg region until Thursday evening, 10pm but there is one piece of good news: the temperatures will remain mild, reaching up to 12 degrees Celsius.

But on Friday, even the mild weather will be over. Temperatures will reach a high of 7 degrees Celsius and it could be stormy again. The sun will appear more often than the day before, but Carnival-goers should be prepared for rain.

The sun will not appear much over the weekend, temperatures will only occasionally reach double figures and there will be a continual chance of rain.

And there is no hope of spring appearing for Monday’s high point – the street carnival. Although temperatures will reach a maximum of 12 degrees Celsius for the parade through Bonn city centre, there will be light rain. But at least the squalls will have passed by the beginning of the week.
