Suspicious bags were empty Adenauerallee closure is lifted

BONN · At an apartment building near the Federal Audit Office, explosives experts were called in Thursday morning to examine two suspicious bags. They were deemed not dangerous and police lifted a road closure that had been imposed.

In response to a GA inquiry, police said the situation between the Bundesrechnungshof (Federal Audit Office) and the Auswärtigen Amt (Federal Foreign Office) was “static” and had been resolved. Two suspicious objects were discovered on Thursday morning at an apartment building. According to GA information, an explosives expert was called in to determine whether or not the objects posed any danger. The bags were found to be empty.

The affected area had been closed off by police. Motorists on the Adenauerallee and the B9 driving in the direction of the Bonn inner city faced delays. Police announced on Twitter at 9:34am that the Adenauerallee had been re-opened. (Orig. text: ga.de, Translation: ckloep)
