Better to play it safe. But the substance found in a mailbox on Monday at a bathroom supply company in Bad Neuenahr was completely harmless. The Rheinland Palatinate State Criminal Office examined the material and found no evidence that it was dangerous or poisonous. Criminal police made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.
There were no indications that the powder contained poison. “It was a starchy powder like flour, potato flour or another food starch,” said head police commissioner Lars Brummer. Fire department chief Marcus Mandt said that everyone had acted appropriately in relation to the incident. There is always a potential danger. He was happy about the all clear but said that white powder “could always be anything.”
