Rust/Bottrop · Most of the German amusement parks will open at the end of March for the summer season, including Phantasialand in Brühl. For visitors, there are many new attractions to experience.

Over the winter, amusement parks across Germany have been busy with new additions and attractions, and new theme areas. Here’s a look at what you can expect this season:

Europapark

Germany's largest amusement park redesigned the French theme area for the coming season. The focus is on the renovation of the 45-meter high dark roller coaster "Eurosat". In addition to new tracks, there are also new roller coaster cars. And with "Eurosat Coastiality", there is a new virtual reality experience. The entrance to the theme area has also been redesigned - including a replica of the "Moulin Rouge" variety theater. In the English area, Paddington is new on the scene - including a shop. The children's book bear is also the main character of a new ice show (www.europapark.de - opens March 24).

Phantasialand

Phantasialand begins its summer season on the 24th of March. It is still unclear as to whether any new features will be completed by then. Currently, it is building a new theme world called "Rookburgh". The opening date for the new section of the park, which will also house the "First Flying Launch Coaster" and "Longest Flying Coaster in the World" named "Fly", has not yet been announced. (www.phantasialand.de - opens March 24th)

Legoland

Right next to Legoland, the new "Pirate Island Hotel" with 142 rooms opens at the start of the season on March 24th. Among other things, there are sleeping boats, pirate menus and a pirate ship playground. In the park, the "Great Lego race" will be the first virtual reality roller coaster premiere. Tripsdrill

The tailor from Ulm inspired the latest attraction at the Tripsdrill adventure park. At the beginning of the 19th century he had built an aircraft, but crashed it in the Danube. Already last year in Tripsdrill the corresponding ride called "high altitude flight" was inaugurated. At the start of the season on March 24th, the complete theme area in the style of the old town of Ulm will be finished (www.tripsdrill.de - opens March 24th).
