Bonn Christmas Circus premiere: For the 11th time, it’s the Rhineland traditional event for the whole family - this year for the first time right in the heart of Bad Godesberg in a big tent at the Rigal'sche Wiese. Featuring a new program and winners of the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo! But the toys wake up after closing time - opening up a world full of poetry, magic and wit that touches our hearts. Festive river lights in Bad Neuenahr (“Uferlichter”): The spa park in Bad Neuenahr becomes a winter wonderland with river lights illuminating the area to create an enchanting Christmas atmosphere. Regional culinary delights and wines attract adults and children can take a magic walk. Open December 8 -10, December 15 - 17, December 22 - 23, December 27 - 30. Drachenfels Christmas market: The cozy market offers a breathtaking Rhine view, and a Victorian ambience in the style of Dickens’ Christmas Carol. Around 65 costumed actors wander through the castle gardens and costumed musicians perform. There is classic British fish ‘n’ chips and tea from steaming kettles, along with German almond biscuits, flammkuchen and jewelry from the Siebengebirge. Shopping in Bonn city center: Here’s a chance for some Christmas shopping if you are still looking to find the perfect gift. From 1 - 6pm, there will be many stores open in the city for Sunday shopping and of course the Christmas market will be in full swing.

Bonn English Singers: On Sunday, Dec. 17, there will be an English “Carol service” at 6pm in the Anglican church All Saints, Bonner Str./corner of Lindenallee in Cologne-Marienburg. On Monday, Dec. 18, the group will perform the “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” with English Christmas songs and readings from the bible, at 7:30pm in the church St. Paulus, Siegburger Str. 75, Bonn-Beuel. Christmas at the organic market: The organic farm “Biobauernhof Hochgürtel” will celebrate Christmas in the barn from 1 to 4 pm, with home-made Spekulatius biscuits and apple punch. Did you know? Volleyball is scheduled every Wednesday at Bonn International School (BIS) in the Agora Sports Hall from 7-9pm and this is open for everybody who is interested in volleyball (with or without experience) and in an english speaking community.

Basketball is scheduled every Thursday at BIS in the Agora Sports Hall from 7-9pm and this is also open for everybody with or without experience.

Sampling of Exhibitions in Bonn and surrounds

LEGO exhibition: “Brick on brick” with more than 600 models. The spectrum ranges from construction vehicles to racing cars to helicopters and ships. There are whole streets of “modular houses” and space flight scenes can be seen with the “Star-Wars sets”. The exhibition will run from now until 13 April 2018. “Let it Come Down”: exhibition from Amsterdam-based artist Jennifer Tee, Tee’s sculpture, installation, performance and collage take inspiration from esoteric thought and practices. Her sculpture often incorporates traditional handicrafts such as knitting or pottery and these objects are often then used within performances.
