Weekend November 17 - 19 What’s happening in Bonn and the region?

Bonn · With the UN World Climate Conference now being over, there will be a bit less hustle and bustle this weekend - but not to worry, there are still lovely things to see and do in this city. Have a look through our tips and see what you’d fancy this weekend!

Looking for a way to get involved in the local expat community? BonnEnglish organizes discussion groups with English speakers and English learners. Groups meet in local cafes to discuss new topics each week. New participants and volunteers are always welcome. See the website for more information.

Weekend tip: If you’d like to see a play in English this weekend, go and see Brief Encounter. It’s on in the Stiftstheater Augustinum.

„Brief Encounter“ tells the moving story of Laura Jesson and Dr Alec Harvey, who meet by chance in a cafe at a railway station. Although they are both already married, their brief encounter quickly turns into a passionate affair and an impossible situation, in view of the restraints and expectations of society in the late 1930’s. With live music and song, and a generous sprinkling of comedy from a memorable cast of supporting characters, this is a highly entertaining portrayal of this classic love story.
