Autumn or summer? Weather warnings for Bonn and the region

Bonn · This is not the summer we all hoped for. The German weather service is issuing weather warnings as persistent rains affects Bonn and the region on Tuesday.

No sign of proper summer at the moment: After a mixed weekend weatherwise, Tuesday proves to be mainly grey and wet. The German weather service issued warnings of persistent rain for Bonn and the surrounding districts. Rainfall of 35 to 50 liters per square meter is expected, with some areas being hit with up to 70 liters of rain. The warnings are valid until Wednesday morning 6am.

On the wet days it will stay rather cool. The temperatures vary between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius, with a light wind.

But there is hope: The weather is supposed to pick up slightly on Wednesday, with 23 degrees Celsius and mainly cloudy skies. A mix of clouds, light rain and sunny spells is expected for Thursday and Friday as well.

The thunderstorms over the past few days have not caused any severe damage in Bonn and the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis, according to the Bonn fire brigade.
