Wachtberg-Pech Two teenage girls run over and seriously injured

WACHTBERG · A 16 and 17-year-old were hit by a car being driven by a 22-year-old in the early hours of Sunday.

Two young women aged 16 and 17 were hit by a car and seriously injured shortly after midnight on Sunday morning on the L158 in Wachtberg-Pech. The police believe the 17-year-old had life-threatening injuries.

The serious accident happened at the crossroads of Pecher Hauptstraße and Grüner Weg and the cause is not yet known. The police officer in charge told the General Anzeiger that the two pedestrians were on the road at the time of the accident. A 22-year-old, who was driving from the Bad Godesberg direction with two others in the car, hit the two young women from Rheinland-Pfalz with his car. They were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The driver suffered from shock and also needed treatment. Police said he was so far unable to give any details about the circumstances of the accident. Clarification was needed of who was on a green light and who was on a red light. The L158 was completely closed until 3.15am.
