Crime Spree Thieves break into 26 cars in one night
Bonn · A rash of car break-ins is occupying Bonn police. On Tuesday overnight, 26 cars had a side window smashed in or broken open.
Bonn police have been dealing with a large series of car break-ins in recent days. Adding to the many that have already occurred, 26 cars were broken into from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning. The cars were parked in the city center, in the western and southern parts of the city and in Kessenich.
Either the side windows were smashed in or plied open. Stolen from the cars were a laptop, a tablet PC, cash, a navigation system, a jacket, cigarettes, two pairs of glasses and a spare tire. In many cases, nothing was taken or investigations are still determining the contents of the car and what might have been stolen.
Criminal investigators of Unit 35 are asking for anyone having information about suspicious persons or vehicles which may have been involved in the crimes to contact them at (0228) 1 50. (Orig. text: hbl)
