Replacement transport services in Bonn from 7-23 April The Kennedy Bridge closed to rail traffic from 8pm today

Bonn · The expansion joints and the asphalt surface of the railway lines on the Kennedy Bridge will be renewed over the Easter holidays. Buses and cars will be able to use the bridge.

No trains will be running over the Kennedy Bridge from 8pm on Friday 7 April until Sunday 23 April. The Stadtwerke Bonn (SWB) will be renewing worn out expansion joint mechanisms and the asphalt surface. Buses will replace trains between the city hall and Konrad-Adenauer-Platz or Beuel station.

SWB said in a press release that passengers should plan longer journey times because of the bus travel. Normal rail travel should resume on Monday 24 April.

Line 62

During the works, Line 62 will run according to the normal timetable only between Oberkassel and Beuel station. From the station to the city hall and back the replacement transport service will operate. Line 61 will run more often between Dottendorf and the city hall.

Line 65

Line 65 will not be running. Line 61 will replace its services between the city centre and Auerberg. This line will operate more frequently. Passengers wishing to travel from the Dottendorf direction towards Beuel can change onto the replacement buses at the city hall stop.

Line 66

Line 66 will only operate between Bad Honnef and Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz and between Siegburg and Konrad-Adenauer-Platz, with some slightly altered departure times. Line 66 passengers wishing to cross the river can use the replacement buses, the SB 55 and bus lines 550, 603, 607, 608, 609 and 640 from the stops at Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz or Konrad-Adenauer-Platz.
