On the fourth court date in the case regarding the violent rape of a female camper, a witness describes her encounter with the 31-year-old man under the Nordbrücke before the crime. It was approximately two weeks prior to the rape of a 23-year-old female camper in the Siegauen when Eric X., a refugee from Ghana, joined a group of people around a bonfire under the Nordbrücke.

There wasn’t much conversation, the young people had brought a stereo as well as food and drinks in a coaster wagon. „We did not send him away“, reports 24-year-old Mira M. (name changed) on the fourth court day in the case against the African man. „He didn’t do anything to us.“ But the 31-year-old showed up again for another and a third time. Then, she was on her own. Her three friends were gone to get fire wood. Eric, as he had introduced himself, asked her repeatedly if she wanted to sleep with him and be is girlfriend. „I declined, of course.“

The fourth and last time she saw him was on the evening before the crime - she only saw him from the corner of her eye and „had a bad feeling“. She asked her friends to send Eric away. Eric X. then left without any further ado. Two hours later, just after midnight, Eric X. is alleged to have shown up at the tent of a student couple. He cut the tent with a saw, threatened and robbed the couple and demanded the 23-year-old woman to come outside because the African man wanted to have sex with her. The female student obeyed because „she feared for her life“.

In English, she begged him not to kill her and her boyfriend, and said he could take everything if he would only let them live. Mira M. and her friends heard about the crime the same night: Two police patrol cars passed the bonfire and warned them about an armed, dark-skinned man, who raped a female camper. It seems as if Eric X. robbed a young cyclist right after he left the party group. The 23-year-old man had hidden his camping gear behind a pillar to get fire wood, as he said on Wednesday as a witness. When he returned, not only the black-and-grey rucksack which was carried by Eric X, when he was arrested a week later, was gone. Hand-made arrows, a drinking bottle, a woolly blanket and the 70-centimeter saw were also taken. The suspect claims he did not steal the items, but declared: „I have found them on the street.“ He also claimed repeatedly that he was not at the crime scene: To him it is completely beyond comprehension how his DNA got on the woman.

A medical consultant refuted this statement in front of the court: The sperm traces found with the victim, are with highest probability the ones of Eric X. Only one in three billion people could have the same genetic imprint.
