Family fest in the Rheinaue Summer holiday program kicks off

Bonn · Sunday will be a perfect day for families to visit the Rheinaue Park. A family fest will mark the start of the summer holiday program “In Bonn ist was los!” There will be lots of activities for children big and small.

A family games festival in the Rheinaue Park this Sunday will mark the beginning of the holiday program “In Bonn ist was los!” (Something’s going on in Bonn!). Organized by the Office for Children, Youth and Families, there will be a broad range of activities, including sports, music and arts & crafts from 11am until 6pm on the large green meadow area in the park. More than 50 persons or organizations will have something on offer.

A picnic area will be set up for families. With the exception of food and beverages, all other offers and activities are free of charge. These include a giant slide, a climbing tower and mountain, human foosball, arts & crafts, games, pony rides, rescue dogs in action, and a giant trampoline. There will also be zorbs and aquatic zorbs (those big plastic balls where you get inside and roll around) and much more.

The Bundespolizei (German Federal Police) will be on hand to present their various emergency vehicles and explain what they do in terms of security, and what kind of training opportunities are available. The dance school Lepehne-Herbst will create a party mood with dance and music, along with designated carnival prince Thomas Zimmermann.
