Dozens of meteors Shooting stars over Bonn tonight

Bonn · Overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, numerous shooting stars will be visible in Bonn and the region. If the sky is clear, one will be able to observe dozens of meteors every hour.

Right in the middle of the pre-Christmas season, one of the most magnificent shooting star swarms is approaching. During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the Geminids, or meteor streams will reach their maximum. In cloudless skies, dozens of meteors will be visible every hour. The best observation conditions are at midnight, because the moon does not come out until 4 o'clock on Thursday morning.

The Bonn Observatory gives an observation tip on its website: “The constellation of Gemini, from whose direction the Geminids appear, rises in the northeast and lies at 10 O’clock almost exactly in the east. (Orig. text: Anja Wollschlaeger, Translation: ck)
