Crime in Bonn Sex offender assaults woman in Tannenbusch

Bonn · An unknown man exposed himself to a 67-year-old woman. It is the fourth incident in three weeks.

An unknown man has again sexually harassed a woman in Tannenbusch. This time, the perpetrator also physically attacked his victim. Police said the man had not only indecently exposed himself in front of the 67-year-old woman on Sunday evening but, according to the woman, had also clutched her and sexually harassed her.

Investigators said the woman reported being attacked by the man, who was around 20 years old, on the street Im Tannenbusch at around 9.05pm. As she reached for her mobile phone, the perpetrator ripped it out of her hand and ran off with it, said police. A search was immediately started but was unsuccessful. The 67-year-old describes the perpetrator as slight, 1.60 to 1.70 metres tall and with dark hair. He was about 20 years old and spoke broken German. He was dressed in jeans, a dark jacket and white trainers.

The description broadly corresponds to that of a man who was in Tannenbusch on Friday morning and indecently exposed himself to a 19-year-old woman at around 7.10am. The young woman was in the Tannenbusch Dunes on her way to the Tannenbusch-south bus and tram stop when the man approached her, showed her his genitals and came towards her. The 19-year-old fled and the unknown man made off. He was also said to be about 19 years old and around 1.60 metres tall and slight with short, dark hair and dark eyes. The witness also described a light discolouration of his face.

Police said they are conducting an intensive search for the man. They are also not ruling out a connection with incidents on 6 and 20 January, when a man also exposed himself. Police said a suspect was caught after the incident on January 6 but was later released as nothing could be proved against him. Last Friday, after the third incident, police informed schools in the district that there was a sex offender in Tannenbusch.

Investigators are now looking into whether the same man could be responsible for all the incidents. Witnesses with information are asked to call 0228 150.
