Line 16 between Bonn and Cologne Service interruption on five nights

Bonn · Work on a bridge in Buschdorf means passengers will face temporary service interruptions on Tram Line 16 between Bonn and Cologne. Bus service from SWB will fill in the gap.

Tram line 16 running between Bonn and Cologne will face service interruptions on five nights between Sunday, March 12 and Friday, March 17. The information was announced by KVB, the Cologne municipal transportation authorities.

The reason for the temporary service disruption is work on a bridge in Buschdorf. Workers are preparing the bridge for demolition and in doing so, they are dismantling the built-in protection against accidental contact with the overhead lines. For this work, the electricity on the overhead lines must be turned off between 11:30 pm and 4:15 am. This means Line 16 between the stops of “Hersel” and “Tannenbusch Mitte” will be interrupted during those times. During all other hours, the service will run as normal.

Line 16 operates from Cologne according to the timetable to the “Hersel” stop and then back again. A bus from SWB transportation authorities will be used to transport passengers between “Hersel” and “Tannenbusch Mitte” during the period of service interruption.
