BONN. Progress is being made on the new Maximilian shopping center across from the Bonn central train station and word is out that two more tenants will be moving in: Rewe supermarket and a dm drugstore.

On Thursday, October 11, the Maximilian Center will celebrate its topping-out ceremony.  It is the new shopping center across from the Bonn Hauptbahnhof (central train station). Ten Brinke Group, the builders, made the announcement on Wednesday.  In early 2017, they had started demolition work on the previous structure that was there (referred to as the Südüberbauung).

In April of this year, the builder sold the shopping center to an auxiliary pension scheme of the Bavarian municipalities for 112 million euros.  Ten Brinke expects the shopping center to be completed by the end of this year.  After that, they can begin with the interior design.  Primark fashion store will move in as the primary tenant, and a Rewe supermarket will move in, as well as a dm drugstore.
