UN Campus Public transport stop to be completed early

Bonn · Construction work will be accelerated so the new “UN Campus” stop is completed in time for the United Nations Climate Change Conference in November. The total cost of the project is eight million euros.

It should be ready just in time for the United Nations Climate Change Conference which begins on November 6. The new public transportation stop “UN Campus” is expected to be up and running for the major event, according to Holger Klein from local transportation provider Nahverkehr Rheinland (NVR).

In the coming months, construction work will be speeded up. NVR and Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) had initially planned for the timetable change to include the new stop on December 10. Now, plans are to have it in operation at the beginning of November so it can be utilized during the UN Climate Conference (COP 23) which begins November 6 and runs until November 17. Meetings will take place at the World Conference Center Bonn (WCCB).

Additional costs of 120,000 euros will be covered by NVR. The project carries a total cost of around eight million euros, most of it financed by the state. Orig. Text: lisTranslation: ckloep
