Siegburg · In May, a laptop from a man on an ICE train was stolen. Now, he has it back again.
A man from Siegburg was on an ICE train in May, when his laptop was stolen. On Tuesday, federal police were able to retrieve his computer, executing a search warrant to enter an apartment and conduct a search.
The passenger had been on a train from Düsseldorf to Siegburg when his backpack was stolen, including the laptop. The laptop contained a software which sends out a location signal when it is logged onto the internet. This led police to an apartment in Cologne-Bilderstöckchen.
With a search warrant, police appeared at the door of the person who possessed the stolen laptop. The 37-year-old immediately handed it over to police. He told police he had purchased the laptop in a café.
