Changed paths at the main station Passageway is being relocated

Bonn · From Wednesday on, the passageway for pedestrians at the main station in Bonn is being changed slightly. Also, some escalators will be removed. The stairs will remain accessible though.

Due to continuous construction work at the square in front of the main station, there will be a change in the path for pedestrians. According to the City Council, the temporary passage in Poststraße, leading from Maximilianstraße towards the main station, is being moved slightly towards the Maximilian-Centers which is under construction.

The steps towards the city tram at Poststraße remain accessible though. Both escalators have to be removed in front of the Sparkasse at the Thomas-Mann-Straße. The existing concrete base plate needs to be renewed all the way to the escalators to allow for the construction of the new hotel.

As both escalators rest on top of the storey ceiling, removal of the escalators is inevitable. The stairs will be adjusted provisionally in the upper part and remain in use permanently. To exit via escalators is possible on the side of the Stadtwerke building at Thomas-Mann-Straße.
