You can always rely on „Die Wache“. The popular bar known by virtually everybody in Bonn, serves until 5am. It is located in the centre of the old town and offers Motown, Pop, Ska, Garage and Rock’n’Roll. Its name (meaning „The Police Station“) stems from the close proximity to the Bornheim police station. A free-of-charge foosball table, regular bingo nights, parties and pub quizzes ensure great entertainment. It’s the perfect spot for night owls.

2 Das Nyx

Located only about 300 meters from „Die Wache“, this is a rustic bar, which also offers a foosball table, and usually advertises Indie, metal and punk parties. It is located in the Vorgerbirgsstraße since 2004 and cultivates its image of a corner pub. The name stems from the greek mythology - where the night Goddess is called Nyx. Here, you get served until 4am, daily.

3 Stachel

From Wednesday to Saturday, you will get served a drink until late here. Depending on atmosphere and amount of people in the bar, the waiters only close up in the wee hours. This is a quaint and inviting place.

4 Tresor

This is the drop-in for all night-active fans of heavy metal and hard rock. AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Metallica and others blast from the speakers. For everybody who wants to sing along: Beside draught beer there are 40 different whiskies to lubrify your vocal chords. A darts machine, a foosball table and several bar games make the entertainment complete.

5 Zone Blues Bar

This place is old-fashioned, quirky and legendary. Thanks to owner Martin Linder who offers technical and philosophical insights into drum solos or Scotch whisky. The whisky selection varies but is always good. The schnapps selection is also great for such a small establishment. The tone is rather cordially rough in here and mixed drinks like Kölsch and coke come with a penalty. Banana Weizen doesn’t even get served at all. The boss can be quite conservative in that matter.

This is Bonn only „quayside bar“… despite being quite far from any kind of harbor or quay, it breathes seaside atmosphere in the middle of the Southern part of the city centre. The beer selection is very good.
