Exchange old swimming tickets New sales system at Bonn pools

Bonn · Council advises swimmers to exchange their old cards now.

A new sales system has been put into operation in Bonn's swimming pools. Bonn city council has announced in a press release that the tickets from the old system can only be used in the pools up to the end of June and should now be exchanged. From July the old tickets will no longer be accepted. They can be exchanged at the Bonn Sports and Swimming Office (Sport- und Bäderamt).

The new sales system only takes cash for the moment, so season tickets for the 2019 outdoor pool season have to be ordered and paid for online at www.bonn.de/saisonkarte. Season tickets include entry to all six open-air swimming pools in Bonn. A normal season ticket costs 120 euros and a discounted ticket is 60 euros. The new tickets are reusable, so a deposit of three euros per ticket will be charged. The tickets can be collected at the ticket offices of the indoor pools and later at the outdoor pools. Proof of purchase, identity card and possible entitlement to reduction must be presented. The photo required for the season ticket will also be taken on site.

Outdoor pools open on 30th May

Summer season for all six outdoor swimming pools in Bonn starts on 30th May, Ascension Day. Melbbad, Römerbad, Ennertbad, Friesi, the outdoor part of the Hardtbergbad and the Panoramabad Rüngsdorf will remain open until 1st September. From the 2nd May the dome at the Friesi will be dismantled and the swimming pool prepared for the summer season. Throughout the summer the outdoor pools will be open Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 8pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10am to 7pm. 29th May is the last opening day for the Frankenbad and Beueler Bütt.

The indoor pool at the Hardtbergbad will be available for schools and clubs to use until the beginning of the summer holidays. If the fine weather continues in September, the Hardtbergbad could also extend the outdoor swimming pool season.
