BAD HONNEF · The canal in Bad Honnef on the route between Wilhelmstraße and Meßbeuel will be renewed in the coming months. During the construction work, the main road will have to be closed on one side.
Motorists have to be prepared for traffic obstructions on the main road in Bad Honnef City from the end of January. According to the city council’s sewage works department, the canal between Wilhelmstraße and Meßbeuel will be renewed in the coming months. During the work, the main road will have to be closed on one side.
From the start of the work in week 5 of the year, traffic will be directed past the construction site due to the limited space available. This will be regulated by traffic lights. Road users who are on their way from a local area are advised to use the B42 to avoid the construction site.
The sewer system dating from 1966 is damaged and must be renewed, according to the city. In addition, the pipes will be hydraulically extended. The entire renovation work is scheduled to run from 28 January through to November. The city administration asks for commuters and other drivers to be understanding regarding any delays caused by the construction measures.
