An unknown man tried to rob a hotel in the Kölnstraße in Bonn-Auerberg on Monday night. The police are searching for the man and are looking for public help. The police are looking for a culprit who attempted to rob a hotel in the Kölnstraße in Bonn-Auerberg. As the police reported, the masked man entered the hotel lobby at approximately 10.45pm on Monday evening, threatened a staff member at reception with a gun and demanded cash.

After a moment he desisted from his intention and fled without any money, on the Kölnstraße in the direction of "An der Josephshöhe". According to police spokesperson Robert Scholten, the man might have noticed other guests who were entering the hotel lobby and gave up the attempted robbery.

The police set the search in motion immediately but could not make any arrest yet. The culprit is thought to be approximately 1,70 meters tall and between 25 and 35 years of age. He is said to be rather skinny and black-haired. He wore a black baseball cap and dark clothes. According to reports he had an Eastern European accent. The balaclava he wore had a skull print in the front.

The police are asking for witnesses to come forward and get in touch with the investigators via 0228-150.
