Women’s Carnival Day and Rose Monday Here are the supermarket opening hours in Bonn over carnival

Bonn · Many supermarkets in Bonn will change their opening hours on Women’s Carnival Day and Rose Monday, others will keep their normal hours and some will not open at all. Here’s an overview.

Whether it is essential groceries or the last drinks for your own carnival party, it is not just those celebrating carnival who need to fill their fridges with supplies. However, there may be times when this is not possible, as while some supermarkets are keeping to their normal opening hours, some will change their hours or close completely on Women’s Carnival Day and Rose Monday.

The Edeka-Mohr on Bornheimer Straße is open on Women’s Carnival Day from 8am to 8pm and customers can shop there from 7.30am to 2pm on Rose Monday. The Edeka-Mohr on Lievelingsweg is open from 8am to 9pm on Thursday and until 2pm on Rose Monday. The Edeka in Dottendorf is open “without restrictions” on the carnival days.

There are special opening hours during carnival at the Rewe on Friedensplatz. On Thursday, the doors open as normal at 7am but close at 4pm. For the parade through the city centre on Rose Monday, the doors will be closed to customers. Things are different at the branch in Heerstraße. In the Altstadt, you can shop from 7am until 4pm on Women’s Carnival Day and to noon on Rose Monday. The branch in Weberstraße in Südstadt opens on Thursday from 7am to 6pm and on Monday from 7am to noon. The Rewe supermarket on Kölnstraße opens until 6pm on Thursday and until noon on Monday.

The Rewesupermarkets in Beuel are also changing their opening hours. The supermarket on Friedrich-Breuer-Straße will remain closed on Women’s Carnival Day but opens as normal on Rose Monday (7am to 10pm). In the branch on Küdinghovener Straße customers can shop on Thursday until 2pm and on Monday until noon.

There are no changes to the opening hours for the five Penny supermarkets in the city area on Thursday. On Rose Monday, the branches in Auerberg, Friesdorf, Duisdorf and Tannenbusch will close at 8pm instead of the usual 10pm and the branch in Frankenbad will only open until 2pm.

Aldi is making no changes during carnival. We confirm, “that the usual opening hours also apply during the carnival period,” said a spokeswoman. The branch in Bonn-Friesdorf will remain closed from Saturday 10 February at 2pm for around a week because of renovation works. The chain is planning the re-opening for Monday 19 February.

There are no changes to the opening hours for Kaufland in Tannenbusch. The supermarket will be open from 7am to 10pm over the carnival days.
