The Hofladen Mandt (Farmers shop Mandt) offers fruit and vegetables on the slopes of the foothills near the castle of Alfter. The farm has been around since 1912. The self-cultivated asparagus will be available beginning mid/end of April. Asparagus from other farms is already available there now.

The family business Naturhof Wolfsberg (Wolfsberg Nature Farm) is located at the Nature Park Kottenforst. The family manages a 30-acre farm producing mainly fruit. The fresh asparagus will be available there from the end of this week.

The Apfelbacher family founded their own vegetable farm in Bornheim-Brenig in 1980 and immediately joined the Bioland association, which had just been founded - “bio” means organic in German. Since 1995, the Apfelbachers have been delivering organic vegetables to Cologne households. With the company relocation in 2008 and the construction of a new barn on Tombergstrasse, room was created for a farm shop , which was opened in 2010.

The strawberry and asparagus business of Sabine and Claus Ritter was founded 30 years ago. After the first ten years, asparagus was added to the strawberry crops. The fresh asparagus is available at the Ritter’s seasonal stands, which can be found here: www.ritter-bornheim.de/verkauf.

The Gemüsehof Steiger (Vegetable Farm Steiger) is proud to grow the patented "Bornheimer Asparagus". Incidentally, on the homepage, they also offer tasty and sometimes extraordinary recipes made from regional vegetables - of course also with asparagus, which should be available later this week.

Organic farmers Isabella and Leonhard Palm, residents of Bornheim since 1988, expect to have home-grown fresh asparagus beginning around April 20. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Palms can also be found at the weekly market.

Already in its fifth generation, the Gemüsehof Mertens (Vegetable Farm Mertens) in Hersel offers an extensive assortment. In addition to their own farm shop, there is also a delivery service for private customers and the gastronomy industry. At Mertens, asparagus is expected to appear in the assortment sometime this this week. On request, it can also be freshly peeled.

The organic farm of Waltraud and Wolfgang Schulz is a nursery offering organic foods. The farm shop and weekly markets sell natural food, vegetables, fruits and meat. Asparagus is expected to be there again in early May.

Fresh asparagus directly from the farm is also available in Uedorf at the Spargelhof Saß (Asparagus Farm Saß) - every day, even on Sundays and public holidays. Already this week, the first asparagus of the season is expected to be on sale there.

The Biohof Bursch (Organic Farm Bursch) is run by the siblings Heinz and Renate Bursch, already in the fourth generation. As early as 1964, the farm was converted to organic farming and since then has been made completely organic. Heinrich Bursch even received the Federal Cross of Merit in 1994 as a pioneer in organic farming. Around the end of April there the first asparagus is expected.

Since 2004, farmer Dorothee Krings has been growing asparagus in Meckenheim. On smaller areas, fruits such as apples or pears are grown. The products are sold directly in the farm shop Spargel und Obsthof Krings (Asparagus and Fruit Farm Krings).

Also in the Siebengebirge, there will soon be delicious asparagus offered - for example, at the Obsthof Siebengibirge (Seven Mountains Fruit Farm) in Königswinter. As a free service, employees even peel the asparagus.

Fruit grower Stefan Schneider runs the Obsthof Schneider; it has been in his family for three generations. Three varieties of fresh asparagus is available at all of their locations. In the region there is a shop in Bonn-Beuel, Bonn-Friesdorf and Bonn-Venusberg, as well as in Königswinter-Niederdollendorf, in Sinzig, Wachtberg-Pech and Niederbachem, and in Remagen on the B9.

Burg Niederpleis (Niederpleis Castle) is also open on Sundays during the asparagus and strawberry season. The owners describe their white and green asparagus as their specialty. It is peeled free of charge upon request.

Himmel & Erde (Heaven and Earth) has been marketing its own products in Eschmar and Stockem since the early 1990s. In 1997, the first farm shop in Eschmar was opened. Stockem followed in 2000.

This farm promises quality and freshness from both its own and regionally grown produce. The farm shop is also open on Sundays and public holidays. In addition, fruit and vegetables can be picked and harvested in Niederkassel on Marktstraße and in Troisdorf on Offenbachstraße.

On the “Schneppenhof by Werner Mittermair” in Niederkassel there is fresh asparagus from their own farm - and extra opening hours during the asparagus season.

In addition to the twelve different apple varieties that are grown in the orchard of Wolfgang Honecker in Mondorf, there is also delicious asparagus in the farm shop during asparagus season.

At the Spargelhof Berschein (Asparagus Farm Berschein) of Maritta Schäfer-Bernschein, the asparagus season starts again in the middle of April.

The Broicher Hof of Peter Capellmann in Stockem exists since 1874 and has been run by the family for many years. It is mainly a farm for growing sod - but of course also fresh asparagus.

This farm estate of Albert and Helga Trimborn was opened in 1985, one of the first in the region. There is asparagus there and also at the stand in Siegburg-Heide on the B56 (Zeithstraße, at Buchenweg). It is sold from Monday to Friday between 9am and 6:30 pm, Saturdays from 8am to 5pm and on Sundays and public holidays from 10am to 5pm.

Since its founding in 1930, the Krewelshof has transformed from a typical Rhenish family farm with dairy cows, chickens, wheat and beets into a multitasking company with a farm café, family barn and of course a farmers market. There is daily fresh asparagus during the season.
