Bonn Cycling Day Free lift on the ferry for bikers

BONN · Sunday is cycling day and the regional bike club ADFC is offering free rides on the ferry that crosses the Rhine. A map of their proposed round trip tour is available on board.

The ADFC (bike club) for Bonn/Rhine-Sieg invites all Bonn residents to the 6th annual Rad-Fahr-Tag (Cycling Day). Bike riders can do a round trip tour on both sides of the Rhine and take a ride free of charge on the ferry from Bad-Godesberg-Niederdollendorf to Graurheindorf-Mondorf. The ADFC will be taking on the costs of the bike crossings between 11 am and 5 pm on Sunday, August 6.

The distance between the two ferries is about 13.5 kilometers, making the round trip about 27 kilometers total. Riders can also have their tire pressure measured while aboard the Mondorf ferry. “We want to show how much fun it is to enjoy the Rhine and wonderful landscape while out biking. The group experience is also something really special when you have 4,000 bikers along the stretch at once,” said organizer Anke Pabst of the ADFC. On both ferries, members of the bike club will have information for those participating and will hand out maps of the round trip course.
