GA Hiking Day First hiking and outdoors exhibition

SIEBENGEBIRGE · In conjunction with the 40th GA Hiking Day, there will be a hiking and outdoors exhibition for the first time. Everyone is welcome to check out what’s new in the world of outdoors.

In the Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains), there are many starting points for great hikes. One of them is at the Haus Schlesien in Königswinter-Heisterbacherrott, where the 40th GA-Hiking Day will commence on Sunday, September 10. Another is the Jufa-Hotel located above Dollendorf, which attracts many young groups, families and overnight guests. It is one of 13 vendors that will participate in the first hiking and outdoors fair which will be held in conjunction with the GA Hiking Day.

The exhibition will take place in the Eichendorff hall of Haus Schlesien on Dollendorfer Straße 412 in Königswinter-Heisterbacherrott. Admission is free and it will be open from 12 noon - 5 pm for all visitors, regardless of whether or not they are participating in the hike.

13 exhibitors from the region will present their outdoors offers for an active life in nature. Visitors will also be able to participate in activities. For example, Arena Vertikal will build up a 5-meter climbing tower outdoors for the adventurous to try out. Camp Nation will also be outdoors - a fitting place. LIW will be on hand to inform the public about team-building trips such as rafting or catamaran tours, but also about adventures like geo-catching or the “Criminal Dinner.” Many other sporting and outdoor specialists will also be on hand.

From 9am to 11am, hikers will start out on the GA hiking route from Haus Schlesien. Tickets are 3-4 euros and cover transportation by shuttle bus from Bonn and Bad Godesberg, and refreshments as well as entry into a raffle.
