Bonn · Even though carnival enthusiasts have been warming up for the big season since November, things will really get hopping with “Weiberfastnacht” on Thursday, February 28. Here’s a look at some Bonn bars and pubs that will be hosting carnival parties during the festive carnival days.

Anno Tubac

For the 28th and final year, landlord and owner Hans Schulze-Osterfeld will celebrate carnival at the Anno Tubac for the last time. In May, the traditional Bonn pub will have new ownership. The regulars are already looking forward for things to get revved up on Thursday, Weiberfastnacht (Women's carnival day) starting at 12 noon. And a special note: Admission is free on Friday.

Bierhaus Machold

Bierhaus Machold offers a tightly packed party plan for a diverse audience. And at the end of this year's carnival season, those interested can take part in the Ash Wednesday "big fish dinner”. Early reservations are requested.

Bahnhöfchen

The Bahnhöfchen in Beuel has long been one of the most popular addresses when it comes to big parties on Weiberfastnacht (women’s carnival). On 800 square meters, there are two dance floors with dance and carnival music, enticing you to sway along to the music and party on.

Bönnsch

If you really want to spend all of the carnival days in another world, the best place to do so is Bönnsch. The Brauhaus is already having a "rocket launch" on Wednesday to kick off the celebration week. Among others, the royalty Prinz and Bonna as well as the band "Schlappkappen" will be honored. The so-called "rocket launch" is organized by the association "Bönnsch em Hätze", but the event is open to all guests.

Gasthaus im Stiefel

From Weiberfastnacht on, the "Stiefelfest" (boot festival) kicks off in the restaurant of the same name in the city center. While on Thursday and Monday the entrance fee is ten euros, on Friday and Saturday, admission is free. Fans of German Schlager music should mark Saturday on their Best OF Karneval list.

The Nyx

Nyx interrupts its usual pop and party routine for a few days due to the exceptional circumstances. From Thursday, 12 noon, Kölsch will not only be served, but DJane Lotta Leben will also be at the turntables. On Friday the "worst of the 90s" encounters the most popular songs of carnival.

Bla

Carnival in a different way? That's what you experience at the Bla. The self-christened "Right Place for Jeck People" has put together a wide-ranging line-up including DJ Dancefloor, karaoke, Bundesliga and concerts with the Hamburg punkers "Oidorno" and the guys from "Aschkotze".

Die Wache

"Die Wache" has long since earned its reputation as the last place to party at the end of the evening. Guests will dance right through from Thursday until Monday. Besides a big mix of "Gute-Laune-Wache-Hits" (“Good mood hits”) at least on Weiberfastnacht and Rosenmontag (Rose Monday) the carnival classics will be played.
