Beuel · An accident resulting in serious damage occurred early Sunday morning on Landgrabenweg in Bonn-Beuel. A car driver didn’t see a Bonn Stadtwerk bus and both vehicles collided. The driver of the car and the bus driver were both injured.

Early on Sunday morning, a traffic accident occurred in Landgrabenweg in Bonn-Beuel, in which a car collided with Stadtwerke Bonn (SWB) bus. At about 0.50 a.m. the 31-year-old car driver turned right out the “Hariboschiff” car park onto Landgrabenweg in the direction of Ramersdorf. The police reported that he didn’t see the bus coming from the direction of Beuel. The car and the bus collided violently at the junction. As a result, the car was flung to the right onto a grassy area.

When the police arrived at the scene of the accident, the driver of the car was trapped in his severely damaged vehicle. Other road users were in the process of pulling the initially unconscious driver out of his car. After he had been safely extricated, local ambulance personnel provided him with medical care and then took him to the Malteser Hospital.

The bus driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident. The bus was extensively damaged and was transported away by the municipal utility company. The driver’s side of the car was completely destroyed and the car had to be towed away.

The accident caused about 30,000 euros’ worth of damage. The police are carrying out further investigations.
