Bonn/Sankt Augustin. On Sunday evening, Bonn police temporarily arrested a 24-year-old woman and a 17-year-old man. They are suspected of having snatched the shoulder bag from a 55-year-old pedestrian on Clemensstraße in Schwarzrheindorf.

A street robbery occurred on Sunday evening on Clemensstraße in Bonn. According to Bonn police, on the basis of current investigations, a woman exited a train at 9.55 p.m. at the Adelheidisstraße S-Bahn station.

As she subsequently crossed Clemensstraße, she was suddenly attacked from behind by a woman and a man. They snatched the 55-year-old's handbag and ran away. The woman, who was slightly injured during the attack, shouted for help. A local resident heard her cries and called the police. Another resident followed the two suspects on his bicycle. He observed that they boarded a city train in the direction of Siegburg.

He immediately passed this information on to the officers of the Ramersdorf station. A few minutes later, the suspects were apprehended in the city train at the Hangelar-West stop and were temporarily arrested. They did not have the stolen shoulder bag with them.

Faced with the accusation, the couple admitted the crime and stated that they had hidden the bag on Sankt Augustiner Straße behind a waste container. The police found the bag there and safeguarded it. After completion of the initial criminal investigation, the 17-year-old and the 24-year-old, who have a permanent residence, were released. The investigation against them is ongoing.
