Bonn · A person was hit by a train at the Bonn central train station, suffering fatal injuries. The tracks were closed off in both directions for more than an hour.

An emergency situation at the train tracks of the Bonn central station caused disruptions in train traffic early Wednesday evening. According to information from police, a person was hit by a train at around 5 pm and fatally injured.

No trains were allowed into the station for more than an hour. At around 6:15 pm, it was opened up again. The situation resulted in delays and cancellations.

According to information from German Rail, the trains from the direction of Wesel ended in Brühl, and trains from Koblenz ended in Bad Godesberg. German Rail set up buses between Endenich-Nord, the central train station and the Bad Godesberg train station.

Tram lines 61/62 were also not able to reach the central train station for a short time.
