Düsseldorf/Bonn · Current owner of the Bonn General Anzeiger, the Bonner Zeitungsdruckerei and Verlaganstalt H. Neusser GmbH has agreed to sell all of its shares to the Rheinische Post Mediengruppe. The acquisition still requires approval from the federal cartel.
Before the purchase of the newspaper is completed, it still requires the approval of the German Federal Cartel Office. Both purchaser and seller have agreed not to release any details about the transaction. With the planned acquisition of the renowned Bonn General-Anzeiger, the Rheinische Post Mediengruppe would significantly expand its activities in the important core market of North Rhine-Westphalia in the daily newspaper business and further strengthen its journalistic understanding as the "voice of the West".
In addition, its business units for advertising supplements in NRW and activities in radio would be complemented and expanded through the participation of the Bonn Group. As a result of this reorganization, the General-Anzeiger would again be part of a significant media group with a high level of journalism.
