Music, Street Food, Sunday shopping and more Bad Godesberg City Fest to run three days

BAD GODESBERG · Street Food, Sunday shopping, musical entertainment and fun for the little ones, the 15th annual Bad Godesberg City Fest is coming up in mid-September and offers something for everyone.

The 15th Bad Godesberg City Festival will run from September 15 - 17 in the heart of the city. It will offer a wide variety of just about everything, including 50 different vendors, a number of bands, circus acts, Street Food, Sunday shopping (1 - 6pm) and an initiative to benefit children and youth in Nepal.

“Cocker on the Rocks” will play on Saturday evening, with music from Joe Cocker, who passed away in 2014. The stage programs will run until 10 pm on both Friday and Saturday nights. On Sunday afternoon, you can listen to the music of Crosby, Stills & Nash from the “Taste of Woodstock” band.

The French Market returns

Strictly speaking, the aperitif will be served on Wednesday, September 13 when the French Market comes to town. With delicious cheeses, meats and baked goods, not to mention wine, the French bring with them a certain savoir-vivre. Come Friday, it will be all about the Kölsch as Mayor Simone Stein-Lücke performs the official tapping of the keg at 4:30pm.

For kids, there will be a kiddy carousel and 5-D Movies as well as puppet theater. Food vendors will offer Turkish, Kurdish, African and Indonesian dishes. But whoever is looking for Reibekuchen (potato pancakes), crepes or burgers, they will not be out of luck.

Bad Godesberg marketing chairman Jürgen Bruder said it was important to him to get the foreign business owners involved in the fest. “I wasn’t successful with this yet,” he said and is hoping for better results next year.

On Sunday, a stage will be open at Alten Bahnhofstraße, and cakes will be sold to benefit an initiative in Nepal which is helping 100 youth as they make their way to the job market. “Kiss My Blues” will play on that stage at 2pm and at 3pm, there will be a fashion show with autumn trends for men and women, as well as sports clothing.
