The advent time is getting close in Bad Godesberg too. The Christmas lights are already up. And it’s not long until start of the Nikolausmarkt.

Mulled wine is already available though for a while, on the new market „Around the Christmas Tree“ at the Moltkeplatz. The preparations for the Nikolausmarkt, organised by the Bad Godesberg City Marketing, are being finalised.

The Nikolausmarkt will open on Monday, November 27. Until December 23, the market will be opened daily. But there is a new concept behind the market plans. Particularly the illumination of the market will - in cooperation with the Stadtwerke - hold a surprise for the visitors.

The festive and sparkling squares and streets, Christmas market stalls and a large decorated Christmas Tree will also attract many people.

On the Theaterplatz, the Bad Godesberg crib will be placed, renovated and embellished. Visitors can stroll past the stalls from 11am until 7.30pm (Monday-Saturday) and from 12noon until 7pm on Sundays and enjoy a mixture of art, crafts, jewellery, Christmas decorations and lots more. Of course there will also be drinks and food.

The market programme also includes a varied stage schedule with choirs and music concerts, dance shows and acrobatics.

Once a week, Christmas movies are shown in the open air winter cinema.

Nikolaus will be visiting the market on Wednesday, December 6, and Saturday, December 9, in the lit-up Late Bahnhofstraße - between 11am and 4pm.

The first of Advent is an Open Sunday in Bad Godesberg, and many shops will be open between 1pm and 6pm.

The mini market „Around the Christmas Tree“ at Moltkeplatz is already offering sweet treats like roasted almonds and crêpes as well as Bratwurst and chips, until New Year’s Eve, daily from 10am until 10pm.

There are also a few scheduled events like the Kinderschmiede on Saturday, December 9, where children can make Christmas presents.

The organiser, Ralf Reifenberg, is happy about the feedback so far. „The Bad Godesberg people were very welcoming from the start and the benches were packed from day one“, he says. „We already have a few regular guests.“
