Police are investigating Another robbery at a Bonn supermarket

Bonn · There was another robbery at a supermarket in Bonn at the weekend. A masked man threatened staff with a weapon. Police are investigating.

After the robbery at a supermarket last Tuesday, there was another holdup at a grocery store in Bonn on Saturday evening. A masked man threatened two employees with a gun at the supermarket in the street “Im Mühlenbach” in Lengsdorf and was subsequently able to flee with cash.

Police said on Monday that the currently unidentified perpetrator entered the shop around 9.20pm and used a firearm to demand the handing over of cash. After the employees responded to the threats, the man fled along Frechengasse towards Provinzialstraße.

Police immediately began a search but have so far been unable to catch the perpetrator. The suspect is between 26 and 28 years old and around 1.60 to 1.70 metres tall. Eye witnesses said he was slim with light blue eyes. The man was wearing a black hard shell mask on his face and was clothed in a black hooded pullover with white laces, black tracksuit trousers with white stripes and blue Nike shoes. Police said he spoke, “simple German.”

Witnesses also saw a further person in dark clothing, who apparently fled with the suspect.

At the start of last week, two supermarkets in Bonn and Niederdollendorf were robbed. It is still being investigated whether there are any connections with the robbery at the weekend. “We always check connections between incidents,” said police spokesman Simon Rott in response to GA questions. “At the moment none are apparent.” Connections between the incidents in Bonn and Niederdollendorf are also being investigated.

The police arrested three suspects after the robberies last week. The men are still in custody said Rott on Monday morning. The enquiries into the suspects and the robberies are still ongoing.

The criminal police have taken over the further enquiries into the robbery in Lengsdorf and are hoping for more witnesses. Anyone with information can call investigators on 0228/150.
