Stone in the underpass leading to Kaiserplatz Another mysterious coloured stone found in Bonn

Bonn · Coloured stones have led to speculation in Bonn’s city centre for almost two weeks. Another light blue stone appeared on Sunday evening.

The speculation continues: after mysterious coloured stones have been appearing in Bonn’s city centre for almost two weeks, another such object was sighted on Sunday evening. A light blue stone, neatly bordered by red and white tape, stood around 7pm in the Poppelsdorfer Allee underpass, close to Bonn’s main station.

A similar brightly coloured stone was first spotted almost two weeks ago at the Old Town Hall in Bonn. The city removed that stone, and another pink stone at Remigiusplatz, for fear someone could trip over them.

Last weekend, seven of them were sighted on Bottlerplatz, all in a row in different colours and also “secured” by border tape. The city also removed these.

What is it all about? Internet users are constantly trying to outguess each other. One user suggests, for example, that it must be urine deposits, the way it often smells in the underpass. The rumours go on: “Perhaps someone is marking out the most beautiful places in Bonn.”

Stones removed by the city security service

In the meantime, this stone has also been removed by the city security service. The city of Bonn press office said: “It is still not known who is doing this.”

There is still no proper explanation for the colourful stones. Anyone who has seen anything at the location or who can and wants to give an anonymous tip can get in touch at online@ga.de (Original text: Alexander Hertel)
