Start and finish at Haus Schlesien 40th GA Hiking Day in September
Bonn · It’s coming up in September - the 40th annual GA Hiking Day. Everyone is invited to join in and and enjoy a day of nature, fresh air and plenty of movement. A Silesian cultural center marks the start and finish of the hike this year.
Get ready for General Anzeiger’s 40th “Wandertag” (Hiking Day) which is coming up on Sunday, September 10. It will begin at Haus Schlesien in Königswinter-Heisterbacherrott between 9 and 11am, and end in the same location at 5:30 pm. Everyone is invited to join in the hike, young and old, singles or with family and friends.
Haus Schlesien links Poland and Germany, with a documentation and information center at the heart of the house. There is also a small but fine museum with rich Silesian art and culture and this will be open on the hiking day. A Silesian grill buffet will also be offered to all GA hikers and a ceramics expert will give visitors a look at how Bunzlau ceramic (Polish pottery) is produced.
, in Bonn-Beuel at the GA-ticket agent Bianca Quadt, in Haus Schlesien, in Bad Honnef on Hauptstr. 48 at the magazine stand N. Eimermacher. Children up to 6-years-old do not need tickets, children 7 and up pay 3 euros, and adults from age 18 pay 3.50 euros for advance tickets. Add 50 cents if ticket is purchased on the event day.
The ticket gives participants a starting card which enables them to use the shuttle buses, enjoy free beverages at the break stations, entry into a raffle and a certificate at the end.
The bus shuttle will leave from both Bad Godesberg and Bonn.
