A 22-year-old man died in Bonn on Friday morning, after he was on the train tracks near Kaiserstraße. A freight train hit the young man. The police calls his death an accident and excluded third-party responsibility.
The „tragic accident“ happened around 4am on Friday morning near the Kaiserstraße between Schede- and Simrockstraße, according to police spokesperson Simon Rott. How the young man got onto the tracks has not yet been established.
There is no railway crossing near the location of the accident. So far no conclusion has been made that it could have been suicide. According to the police, the 22-year-old was on his own. If the young man was under the influence of alcohol, was not known either.
This can only be determined if the public prosecutor’s office orders a post-mortem examination. It is also not known if the young man wanted to cross the train tracks or walk alongside.
